'Group Exchanges' are an initiative to promote inter-university student exchange via registered extracurricular activity organizations in both universities. To date, joint training sessions for Wadaiko "Raku" (APU) and Wadaiko Don (RU) and training camps for Long Stay Beppu (APU) and Tango Muraokoshi Development Team (RU) have been held utilizing this program. It provides an opportunity to deepen their understanding of each other's organizational structure and activities.

'Student Exchange Programs' are held to promote inter-university exchange. Students from both universities have been jointly holding workshops under various research themes such as the academic exchange programs: "International Society and Social Networks" and "Considering the Partnership of East Asia Partnership plan (the concept of The East Asian Community)" held in September 2008. This provides a valuable experience for students to receive lectures from teachers in each other's university which, under normal circumstances, they would not be able to.
Also, the "Kyoto Peace Exchange Program", centering on AP House residents, was held as a chance to exchange opinions about peace with Ritsumeikan University students.

'Mutual Dispatches to Campus Wide Events' are student and group dispatches to events in both universities. Ten groups from Ritsumeikan University participated in the APU "Tenku Festival" held in October 2008 such as the Gagaku group (a classical Japanese court music group) and the Ritsumeikan Broadcasting Center. Furthermore at the Biwako-Kusatsu Campus Festival held in November, PRENGO, Ai no Nami, Sun Piccolo Project and World Cooking Aroi gave exhibitions of their activities; Photo Club and Travel and Traffic Study Group gave a joint exhibition; and Samulnori group 'Shinmyon' performed traditional Korean music.
It is hoped that through such student exchanges, APU and Ritsumeikan University students can deepen their mutual understanding and learn from each other further.
