Outline of the Program
As we are approaching an age when the number of university applicants is less than university capacity, a decrease in students' desire to learn and sense of purpose is brought into question. While on the other hand, universities are expected to raise their global competitiveness and produce human resources who can perform in global society. As a result, an awareness of the importance of freshmen education has grown. The transition from high school to university and comprehensive support for freshman students have also become very important. Through the following initiatives aimed at raising the quality of undergraduate education, APU aims to ensure that its students adjust smoothly into university life and the academic skills of the university. It will also create an APU identity by fostering an understanding of the university's fundamental principles and history.
Promoting the diversification and organization of freshman education including 'Freshmen Orientation'
To ensure that the aforementioned goals take shape, APU will establish "Introduction to APU" (regular curriculum / 2 credits) in addition to its First-Year Student Workshop I & II freshman seminars, to boost students' motivation to study, their awareness of goals and speed up the 'learning transition' towards forming a proactive learning style and creation of a learning community. |
