A ceremony to conclude an Agreement of Cooperation in Education and Research between APU's Health, Environment, and Life Sciences Institute (HEALS) and the Division of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Graduate School of Science at Kyoto University was held at APU on Saturday 26th January.
The ceremony was attended by nine members of Kyoto University's Graduate School of Science, Division of Earth and Planetary Sciences, including Dr. HIRAJIMA Takao, Dr. AWAJI Toshiyuki and Dr. FUKUDA Yoichi; and from APU, Vice President COOPER, Malcolm, International Cooperation & Research Dean SANGA-NGOIE Kazadi, and manager of APU Research Office, Mr. MURAKAMI Takeshi also attended. Upon signing the agreement, both organizations agreed to the promotion of further collaboration in their respective research activities.
The most important aspects of the agreement were the promotion of mutual visits by students and faculty in a research capacity and mutual collaboration in research-related areas such as international conferences, joint seminars, the sharing of research data and publications, and joint research activities.
Through the promotion of cooperation in research between Kyoto University's Division of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Graduate School of Science and APU's Health, Environment, and Life Sciences Institute, it has been decided to aim towards the formation of an earth sciences international education research center with a global perspective, and further enhancement of graduate education and research is expected for both parties in the future.
