Creating a bookmark:

  1. Create texts to be used as bookmark point(s).
  2. Create a high-lighted block of this text in which you want to make as destination point.
  3. Choose Edit, Bookmark from the main menu, and click OK.
  4. Repeat step 2 and 3 for all other destinations (Including the Index, on the top one)
  5. To create a link, make a high-lighted block of text where the bookmark will jump from.
  6. Choose Edit, Hyperlink, and choose "Open Pages" from the folder.
  7. On the bookmark window, click the down-arrow, and click the destination bookmark you want to go to, and click OK to make the link.
  8. Repeat step 5, 6 and 7 for other links.

Creating a Home Page using FrontPage Express
Each time you start FrontPage Express, it creates a new, untitled Web page. You can use this as a start for your Web page. Any other time, you can create a new Web page by choosing File, New from the main menu.
FrontPage Express cerates all new Web pages using the same characteristics:
1. A White background with black text.
2. The U.S./Western European Character set.
3. A title of “Untitled Normal Page”.

Giving Your Web Page a Title:

  1. Choose File, Page Properties from the main menu.
  2. Type the title of your Web page in Title.
  3. Click OK to save your changes.

Saving Your Web Page as a File on Your Computer:

  1. Choose File, Save As from FrontPage Express’s main menu. You’ll see the Save As dialog box.
  2. Click As File to open the Save As File dialog box.
  3. Provide a path and file name for your Web page, and click Save.
  4. Note that, the main page should be named as "index.html".

Apply Character Formatting:

  1. Select one or more characters that you want to format. You can use the mouse or the Keyboard.
  2. Choose Format, Font from the main menu
  3. Select a font face from Font. This list reflects the fonts on your computer, so be careful to pick a Font that you’re sure the user will have.
  4. Select a font style in Font Style.
  5. Select a size from Size. Set it to Normal if you want to use the current paragraph style’s default font size.
  6. Select one or more special effects.
  7. Select a color from Color. Set it to default if you want to use the web page’s default text color.
  8. Click Ok to save your changes.

Apply Paragraph Formatting:

  1. Place the insertion point inside of the paragraph that you want to format.
  2. or select the text (with a high-lighted block).
  3. Choose Format; Paragraph from the main menu.
  4. Choose the paragraph format you want to apply to the selected text, and click OK

Aligning Text:

  1. Place the insertion point inside the paragraph you want to align.
  2. Choose Format, Paragraph from the main menu, and you see the paragraph Properties dialog box.
  3. Choose Left, Center, or Right from Paragraph Alignment.
  4. Click OK to save your changes.

Indenting Text:

To indent text, place the insertion point inside the paragraph that you want to indent, and click the Increase indent button on the Format toolbar. You can also decrease an indent by clicking the Decrease Indent button.

Making Lists:

  1. Put the insertion point within the text that you want to make a list item, and choose Format, Bullets and Numbering.
  2. Click the Bulleted tab if you’re creating a bulleted list, or click the Numbered tab if you’re creating a numbered list.
  3. From the available choices, select the style of the list you want.
  4. Click OK to save your changes.

Adding Images to Your Web Page:

  1. Position the insertion at the location where you want to insert an image.
  2. Choose Insert; Image from the main menu.
  3. Type the path and file name of the image in Form File; or, click Browse to browse your computer for an image file. If the image you want to use is on the Internet, select From Location, and type the URL of the image.
  4. Click OK, and FrontPage Express will insert the image at the insertion point.

Working with Links on Your Web Page:

  1. Select the text or image that you want to use as the anchor for a link.
  2. Choose Insert, Hyperlink from the main menu.
  3. Select the type of link you’re creating from Hyperlink Type. If you’re linking to another Web page, chooses http:, for example; if you’re creating a link to an Internet mail address, choose mailto:.
  4. Type the URL of the document to which you’re linking in URL.
  5. Click OK to save your changes.

Using tables to format Your Web Page:

  1. Position the insertion point at the location where you want to add your table.
  2. Click the Insert table button on the Composition toolbar, or choose Table, Insert Table from the main menu.
  3. Type the number of rows you want in Rows and the number of columns in Columns.
  4. Choose how you want to align the table on the Web page from the Alignment drop-down list.
  5. If you want to draw a border around the table, select Specify Width of the border from Border Size.
  6. If you want to control the width of the table, select Specify Width and type the width of the table in the space provided. You can change the unit of measure by selecting In Pixels or In Percent.
  7. Click OK to create the table in your Web page.

Adding An Removing Rows and Columns:

  1. Choose Table, Insert Rows or Columns from the main menu.
  2. To insert a column, select Columns; to insert a row, select Rows.
  3. Select the number of rows you want to insert in Number of Rows or the number of columns you want to insert in Number of Columns.
  4. Select Above Selection to insert a row above the insertion point or Below Selection to insert a new row below the insertion point. If you’re working with columns, select Left of Selection or Right of selection.
  5. Click OK to save your changes.

To remove a row or column, use these steps:

  1. Place the insertion point within the row or column that you want to remove from the table.
  2. Choose Table, Select Row if you’re removing a row; or choose Table, Select Column if you’re removing a column.
  3. Click the Cut button in the toolbar.

Aligning Content within a Table Cell:

  1. Select the cell or cells that you want to format.
  2. Choose Table, Cell Properties from the main menu.
  3. Select the horizontal alignment from Horizontal Alignment: left, Center, or Right.
  4. Select the Vertical Alignment from Vertical Alignment: Top, Middle, or Bottom.
  5. Click OK to save your changes.

Changing the Size of a Cell:

  1. Select the cell or cells that you want to format.
  2. Choose Table, Cell Properties from the main menu.
  3. Select Specify Width and type the width of the table in the space provided. You can change the unit of measure by selecting In Pixels or In Percent.
  4. Click OK to save your change.

Joining Table Cells (Spanning):

  1. Position the insertion point in the top, left cell of the block of cells you want to span.
  2. Choose Table, Cell Properties from the main menu.
  3. Select the number of rows you want the cell to span from Number of Rows Spanned. Select the number of columns you want the cell to span from Number of Columns Spanned.
  4. Click OK to save your changes.

Formatting Forms and Fields on the Web Page:

  1. Add the field to your Web page. Choose Insert, Form Field from the main menu, and then choose a field type from the submenu.
  2. Format your new filed.
  3. Double-click the field to display its Properties dialog box. Type a name for the field in Name. Provide any additional information required by the field and click OK to save your changes.

Working with Raw HTML:

To view your Web page’s raw HTML, choose View, HTML from FrontPage Express’s main menu. You can edit your Web page’s HTML source using the same window.

Insert an HTML Tag:

  1. Choose Insert, HTML Markup from FrontPage Express’s main menu, and you see the HTML Markup dialog box.
  2. Type your HTML tag in the dialog box, FrontPage Express does not verify the syntax of anything you type in this dialog box.
  3. Click and FrontPage Express adds your HTML tag to the Web page.

Adding Scripts to Your Web Page:

  1. Choose Insert; Script from the main menu.
  2. Select the language that you’re using to write the script-VBScript or JavaScript.
  3. Type the script in the space provided.
  4. Click OK to save your changes.
