Manila, Philippines ---Sociologist-Anthropologist of an interdiciplinary team which doncuted studies for the development of the city of Port-Gentil, Republic of Gabon. Carried out surveys and did participant observation in an urban poor community. 1978 Psychological Corporation Makati, Philippines --conducted psychographic analyses of consumers of various products, for a marketing research firm. 1979 Research Associate “Institutional framework plan for refugee processing and resettlemnt” Planning Resources and Operations Systems, Inc. Manila, Philippins --conducted studies among Indo-Chinese refugees in the Philippines for the institutional framework plan of the Bataan Refugee Processing Center. 1979-1981 Research Associate/Consultant Project Monitoring and Evaluation Division Population Center Foundation Manila, Philippines --as consultant for evaluation research, developed and reviewed proposals, and monitored projects for the national population program. 1980 Member Upland Development Consultative Working Group Department of Environment and Natural Resources ---Involved in the planning, monitoring, and review of the pilot projects of the Upland Development Program, funded by the Ford Foundation 1987 Philippine Social Science Council Manila, Philippines --member, research team which conducted a “Survey of Social Science Graduate Programs in the Philippines.” Analyzed selected cases of graduate programs and their growth and development. 1988 Project Coordinator Social Soundness Analyses of USAID Projects USAID Manila --prepared “Social Soundness Analyses” of several USAID-proposed projects, e.g. Local Government Improvement Project (October-December), Agricultural Education Improvement Project (September-November), and Rural Electrification Project (Marh-May) December
