Each year is divided into two semesters, and each semester is comprised of two quarters and a session. Registration and grade announcements are semester-based, with grades for all courses, including 1st Quarter, released at the end of the semester. There may also be instances where classes are scheduled on Saturdays or holidays. The number of credits earned per course is determined by the Japanese University Establishment Criteria, and is based upon the number of class hours (including study conducted outside of class, homework, etc.).
