YOSHIDA Seitaka
(APM 3, Japan)
Accelerated Graduation Program
Unofficial job offer from NOMURA SECURITIES CO., LTD.
When I started getting serious about job hunting I applied to as many companies
as I could - not limiting myself to a particular position or industry. After
talking to a number of companies, I lost interest in some organizations that
I thought sounded great to begin with, or vice versa companies that didn't sound
appealing ended up fascinating me. When I met employees from the company that
I received an unofficial job offer from, NOMURA SECURITIES CO., LTD, I really
felt they had pride and confidence in the work they were doing.
APU is also a university that I am proud to be a student of, and can speak of
its attraction. Right now I'm looking forward to working at a company where I
can put the knowledge I have learnt here into practice. In particular, I want
to continue challenging myself in the company and see in society to what extent
I can apply my leadership skills gained from being the leader of a language teaching
employment club for international students. |

TSURUMAKI Haruka
(APS 4, Japan)
Unofficial job offer from
INAX Corporation
I have always been interested in housing and interior. When I went on an exchange
to Vietnam I found a regional office of INAX and developed an interest in the
company. If the opportunity arises I would definitely love to go to the Vietnam
regional office.
When I was job hunting I used the APU Tokyo office quite a bit. I received a
lot of psychological support and detailed guidance from advisors rich in experience.
The recruitment process involved a number of discussions however, because I was
used to having them in class they went smoothly. Rather than putting all efforts
into job hunting alone, I think leading a fulfilling student lifestyle each and
ever day leads to successful job hunting. |

PRIYA
Dugar
(APM 4, India)
Unofficial job offer from
Toshiba Corporation
To find out what type of work I want to do and am suitable for I went to about
40 different company information sessions. In the interview I put effort into
saying things that were different to what other student said: such as my involvement
in club activities, and the challenges I overcame in the diverse international
environment which APU provides. I think gaining first hand experience and confronting topics of high interest
is an advantage of studying at APU.
During my job hunting there were times when I was anxious however, my Japanese
flat mate and I encouraged each other . For international students tests such
as the written exam are difficult, nevertheless, to all my juniors, buckle
down and don't give up! |

JUNG
Dong Gyun
(APM 4, Korea)
Unofficial job offer from
Kyushu Railway Company
I applied to JR Kyushu, because after living in Beppu for 4 years, I came
to love the unique culture and nature that Kyushu offers. In addition by
utilizing the knowledge and Japanese skills that I learnt at APU I wanted
to do be of service to the region. Another major reason is that my father
works for the Korean Railway Company, therefore railways have always been
a close presence to me. Before I enrolled at APU I studied at a Japanese
language school in Tokyo. There I made many Japanese friends, worked part
time in the hospitality industry and after a year I achieved my dream of
entering APU on a Japanese basis. Now after receiving this job offer I
realize even more that my best asset is my ‘If you try you can do
it' attitude.
At APU there are so many encounters and learning opportunities that you couldn't
receive anywhere else. By applying these experiences and living up to the APU
name I want to strive for my best here in Kyushu. |
