Case Study I

œPractical Studies by Learning Actual Cases

@"Case Study I" features practical studies of corporate behaviors and business environment by referring to an actual case (a report, usually comprised of several pages, on an actual incident). As topics for discussions, this seminar uses corporate business strategies, issues related to corporate finance and accounting, production, distribution and marketing, human resources management, and economic policies.


œStudy Proceedings

@In "Case Study I", students should proceed with thier studies in the following process.

(1)A faculty member provides students with a case eand related materials prior to classes. Students should preview them, and understand important points.
(2)During the class, the faculty member chairs discussions, in which students are encouraged to actively suggest diverse views and opinions.


œDeveloping Ability to Discover and Resolve Problemsr

@In "Case Study I", students are encouraged to discover study themes and topics autonomously and seek solutions to the problems that they have discovered. By thoroughly reading the case provided, students should discover problems and try to find solutions to that problem

œWriting Cases

@In "Case Study II", students learn methods of writing up a specific case. Based on what they have studied in the "Case Study I", they should explore practical themes concerning corporate behaviors and business environment, and develop one theme. Students, for instance, can select their themes from among problems related to business strategies, finance and accounting, distribution and marketing, human resources management, and economic policies.


œMaximum Use of Accumulated Knowledge, Information, Experience and Skills

@Writing cases requires abundant knowledge, advanced information processing ability, analytical skills, and potential to discover and resolve probelms. Morever, students should develop the ability to evaluate practical cases though such experiences as an internship
