On Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1, 2012, fifteen members of APU Habitat took part in a joint training camp with members of eight fellow Habitat student organizations in six universities throughout the Kansai region. Habitat is a volunteer organization involved in housing construction projects overseas.
During the camp, members of each group heard stories from former members, took part in Habitat study groups, and reported on their organization’s activities. Camp leader, HORII Ayaka (APS2, Japan) said “This was a great opportunity for us to learn about the different action plans of each organization and to get information about countries we have not travelled to yet”.
Habitat APU takes part in these camps twice a year. Furthermore, these eight organizations organized a joint donation appeal to support the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami relief efforts.
