On Friday, March 12, 2010, the Spring 2010 Graduation Ceremony was held at the B-con Plaza Convention Hall in Beppu City at which 762 students from 36 countries and regions marked the start of their new journey. Approximately 1200 parents, friends and juniors gathered to celebrate the occasion.
From Tuesday, February 2 to Sunday 28, 2010, APU faculty staff and five students visited Palawan State University (The Philippines) and conducted research as a part of the “Environmental Opinion Leaders for the Asia Pacific Program (ENVOL*). The fieldtrip was led by APU Vice President Prof. COOPER Malcom, Dean of International Cooperation & Research Prof. SANGA-NGOIE Kazadi, and APS Assist. Prof. KOBAYASHI Shoko. APU ENVOL students KUDABADU Jayawickrama (GSAM, Sri Lanka), MORISAKI Ikuko (GSAM, Japan), Waran JOHN (GSAM, Sudan), SINGH Abhijit (GSAM, India) JAYAGODA Dimithri (GSAM, Sri Lanka) took part in this fieldtrip.

To coincide with the APU 10th Anniversary, local Oita Prefecture citizens and high schools students will be able to register at the library free of charge from April 1, 2010. We welcome you to take advantage of this opportunity to study the Asia-Pacific region using our over 120,000 books, research materials, news papers, magazines and much more available at the unique APU Library.
On Saturday, February 27 and Sunday 28, 2010, the Nakatsu City Shimoge Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the "Hita Oukan Nakatsu Street Walk". This project was backed by Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University and co-managed and organized by APS Associate Professor TODOROKI Hiroshi and his Seminar students. Eleven APU students also participated in addition to the 100 members of the general public.
Five APU Open Campus dates have been set between July 2009 and March 2010.
From January 8 until January 20, 2010, fourteen delegates from The Philippines, including mayors and officials from the Department of Interior and Local Government, came to APU for two weeks to participate in the JICA commissioned "Training Course and Seminar for Philippine Municipal Mayors of Clustered Local Government Units (LGU): One Village One Product".

Over eighty students from APU and ten other Japanese and Korean universities took part in the "East Asia University Student's Peace and Human Rights Camp" which ran from Thursday, February 18 until Monday 22, 2010. During the camp, the students visited historical Japanese and Korean ruins, took part in lectures and fieldwork and exchanged their thoughts and opinions on peace and human rights. This camp was planned and managed by the APU East Asia University Student's Peace and Human Rights Camp Student Committee.
