On Saturday, September 4, 2010, the "Dolphins" APU men's basketball team will face-off with the University of Kitakyushu basketball team in the 17th All-Kyushu Basketball League Tournament hosted by Seinan Gakuin University. A win here for the Dolphins will see them promoted to the next league.

On Monday, August 30, 2010, a group of APU students were presented a Certificate of Appreciation by the President of Oita Godo Shimbun, Mr. NAGANO Ken, for their efforts compiling the recent "APU PRESS" 10th Anniversary Special Feature* in collaboration with Oita Godo Shimbun staff members. Held at the Head Office of the Oita Godo Shimbun, the presentation ceremony was attended by the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. KIM Chan Hoe, five APU students and two staff members involved in the project.

On Friday, August, 6, 2010, nineteen participants on the Freshman Intercultural Relations Study Trip (FIRST) to Taiwan held a presentation session to announce the results of their fieldtrip.
On Friday, July 6, 2010, a group of ninety-four APU students took part in a Welcome Reception at Suginoi Hotel, Beppu City, held prior to the opening of the "APEC Growth Strategy High Level Policy Round Table" on the following day. Coming from 15 of the 21 APEC member states including China, Korea, Indonesia, Japan and Vietnam, the students served as interpreters, guides and attendants to the many local and international VIPs who gathered for the APEC conference.
On Saturday, August 21, 2010, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Japan, H.E. Mr. Virasakdi Futrakul, visited APU accompanied by an entourage of officials and met with APU Vice-President HIRATA Junichi who welcomed the Ambassador to the university.
From Friday, July 9, the 9th "Asia Pacific Forum for Graduate Students Research in Tourism" was held at APU. Running until Sunday 11, this forum invited approximately eighty students from thirty-two graduate schools in seventeen countries and regions. Entitled "Revitalization through Tourism", the event featured panel discussions, research presentations and more. Fifteen APU graduate students took part in this event.
