The Ritsumeikan Trust established the Center for Modern Language Education(CMLE) with a mission to promote and foster the study of modern languages.The purpose of CMLE is the continuous improvement of language teaching policies, and the design of high efficacy language-teaching curricula. With these goals in mind, CMLE subsidizes language-teaching research, hosts academic conferences, symposia, seminars and public lectures, publishes a bi-annual research journal "Polyglossia", and organizes a range of language learning programs and other opportunities for students both here in Japan and overseas.
