| In March 2004 APU bid farewell to its first batch of graduates as they embarked on their careers on the global business stage. APU's success in producing students equipped with the skills necessary to survive in the international marketplace can be attributed to the continual cooperation and support received from a wide network of companies and organizations, the Advisory and Committe and the Support Group.
In order to produce students ready to take on the global business world, APU implemented a curriculum and education system unprecedented by any other univeristy in Japan. Half of the student and faculty body have gathered at APU from around the globe, providing students with a multicultural campus in which to master English, Japanese and a number of other Asia Pacific languages. The APU curriculum requires students to build strong communication, debating and presentation skills. |

Through participation in local exchange events, fieldwork and internship programs, students become career conscious and learn to realize the value of strong problem solving skills. With students and faculty from 97 countries and regions from around the globe, APU is currently striving to become a 'new type of university'. International students are working and studying with Japanese students, forming a network that will one day be the start of a network branching out not just to other parts of the Asia Pacific, but stretching around the globe.Through the utilization of this network, coupled with the resources and knowledge provided by the Ritsumeikan Trust, APU will become a stepping stone to the international community and center for world class level research, an institution where faculty and students alike strive to contribute as much as they can to the international community. I greatly appreciate your cooperation and support and hope that your organization will see APU as the new and exciting university that it is, ready to rise to the challenges of the 21st century. |
